Men and Male Teenagers

photo_hommeEven if the extent of the problem is less, the reality is that men are also victims of sexual assault. The Bradley report of 1984 showed us that 33% of Canadian men have been subjected to undesired sexual contact and that 75% of the contact occurred before the age of seventeen.

As sexual assault is for women, this subject is taboo and the myths and prejudices around it are deep-rooted. The majority of people who assault boys are heterosexual men who have an active sexual life with their spouses and who are fathers.

Like women, boys and men have to live with the consequences of sexual assault which touch many spheres of their lives.

In the section "Useful links", you will note leads which will allow you to find help (example : the phone numbers and addresses of the "Youth Centre" and the Youth Protection Department).
