Recognition for Northern Light

Recognition for Northern Light

Le Centre d'aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel put on line last June an Internet site called Northern Light.  This site is an alternative facilitating the access to specialized services in rural and remote regions regarding the problem of sexual assault.  The team of the Northern Light project is proud to announce that our site is a finalist at the Gala des affaires électroniques.

The gala is a means of recognition for teams working in the domain of new technologies.   "Different successful projects in the electronics field have often been overlooked.  Putting in place solutions which improve the process come from a new generation of applications which make information more interesting for the needs of business.  This is the place where the teams concerned can have their projects and themselves recognized and appreciated..."  We are finalists in the category Social Innovation (community organization or social economic enterprise that knew how to combine technology and social development from an innovative point of view and was able to show the benefits of using information technologies).

The event will honor those people who, by their creativity, their know-how and their vision, have stood out by using technologies in the domain of electronics.

If our team is selected, we will have the opportunity to participate in the Electronics Tour which will take place in the main towns of each of the 17 administrative regions of Quebec. It will be a greater visibility for us who work at Centre d'aide et de lutte contre les agressions à caractère sexuel.

The prizewinners will be revealed on November 7th in Montreal.
